1. Sekumpul Waterfall

Sekumpul Waterfall

Sekumpul Waterfall, located in North Bali, is one of the most breathtaking spots in Bali. It’s a series of impressive cascades surrounded by beautiful greenery – truly something special! You can either enjoy the view from the viewpoint above, or hike down to the base for an experience up close.

If you’re just in the mood for a view, the viewpoint only costs 20,000 IDR (a little over € 1), and it’s a great option if you’re not up for trekking. Just be sure to mention that at the entrance, because they usually only offer hiking options at first. Make sure to pay at the official ticket counter and ignore anyone trying to charge you along the road since they’re not legit. We’ve included a photo of the official ticket counter for your information.

For the more adventurous, a hike to the base is a very fun option. You’ll need to hire a guide, which costs between 150,000 and 250,000 IDR per person (around € 8 to € 14), depending on how many waterfalls you want to see. You can also book your trek to Sekumpul and Fiji Waterfall in advance through GetYourGuide.

2. Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall

Another incredible waterfall in Northern Bali is Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall. Here, you’ll discover four stunning waterfalls, which are easy to reach with a 20-minute hike (one way). If you’re not up for walking, you can ride a motorbike for 50,000 IDR (less than € 3), but we found the hike to be simple and definitely worth it. The entrance fee is 40,000 IDR (a little over € 2), plus 2,000 IDR for scooter parking. Plan to spend at least an hour here, or longer if you want to take a refreshing dip in the water!

3. Banyumala Twin Waterfall

About a 20-minute drive from Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall is Banyumala Twin Waterfall, one of our favorites for a refreshing dip. It’s gaining popularity, so we recommend going early in the morning to beat the crowds. We visited around noon and encountered some people, but it was still much quieter than other tourist-heavy spots like Ubud or Canggu. There are areas where you can just take in the view, but others are great for swimming! The entrance fee is 50,000 IDR (less than € 3), with an additional 2000 IDR (about € 0,15) for scooter parking. Plus, you get a cute bracelet included in the price!

4. Leke Leke Waterfall

Leke Leke Waterfall, located in Central Bali, is a breathtaking waterfall surrounded by nature that gives it a mystical, Tarzan-like vibe. The hike to the waterfall takes about 15 minutes and is quite manageable. When you arrive, you’ll find a rock perfectly positioned for fantastic photo opportunities right in front of the falls. To avoid long waits, try to visit early. It is one of Bali’s more popular waterfalls after all. The entrance fee is 50,000 IDR (less than € 3).

We were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the area was! You can see it from the moment you step into the beautifully designed parking lot. There’s a cozy restaurant at the top and a smaller place for drinks or a swing further down.

5. Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Another must-visit waterfall in Bali is Kanto Lampo Waterfall, renowned for its beautiful cascading waters. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Ubud so you don’t have to go to great lengths to get here. Since it’s a popular spot, we recommend arriving early in the morning to beat the crowds. The entrance fee is 25,000 IDR (around € 1,50), and there’s an extra 10,000 IDR (about € 0,60) if you want to use a locker (which we highly recommend). And don’t forget to keep your swimwear on, as the sign suggests! 😉

Kanto Lampo is a great place to get those Instagram worthy shots of you standing under the falls. The main attraction here are the multiple streams of water over the rocks, but we loved the smaller falls (with much less people) to the right side of those much more. More adventurous people will be happy to know that you can explore hidden trails in the surrounding area as well.

6. Goa Rang Reng Waterfall

Just a 5-minute drive from Kanto Lampo Waterfall, you’ll find Goa Rang Reng Waterfall, a hidden gem that hasn’t yet been overrun by crowds. No matter what time you visit, you’re likely to have the place mostly to yourself or just share it with a few others. We arrived at 10 AM and had the whole place to ourselves for over one hour.

The path to the waterfall is beautiful, with stunning statues and wall carvings along the way. We heard from a local guide that a man carved these during the pandemic! Each day he’d come here to continue working on his art, whilst locals came to keep him company or give him food and water. The waterfall itself is a real gem too, with serene pools to relax in both at the top and bottom. The water is so clean and pure, and very refreshing! It’s a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature, and definitely one of our favorite waterfalls in Bali. The entrance fee is 20,000 IDR (around € 1,20), an absolute steal.

If you’re up for more waterfalls, hidden trails and even a swing, then you can hire a local guide to get there. Prices for these tours aren’t advertised, you just give the local guide what you think is reasonable.

7. Tibumana Waterfall

Tibumana Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in Bali and definitely worth the visit. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Ubud, and the way to get there is incredible. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views of rice fields and palm-lined roads right in the middle of those. The short walk to the waterfall takes you across charming little bridges and natural ponds full of fish and even crabs. The moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a stunning waterfall and a pool that’s perfect for a refreshing dip. The entrance fee is just 20,000 IDR (a little over € 1), making it a great value for such a beautiful spot!

8. Tukad Cepung Waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall, nestled in East Bali, offers a truly adventurous experience. To get to the falls, you have to wade through water. Talk about a bit of fun on your journey! The main attraction is a stunning waterfall tucked inside a cave, such a unique sight! It’s something we’ve never seen before, the way the sun shines through the cave and trees is really magical. What we also really liked is that this isn’t the only attraction here. You’ll find smaller waterfalls and even a small (man made) pool to cool off nearby. The entrance fee of Tukad Cepung is 30,000 IDR (just under € 2). Even though Tukad Cepung Waterfall isn’t really popular among “casual tourists”, we do want to say that it’s often included in tours. Because of this we recommend arriving before 9 AM to get ahead of the crowds and tour groups.
